Annihilation on parade

So first order of business.
I finally acquired my own copy of the Skitkids/nightmare split.
The comforting feeling of listening to this on vinyl is great.
Every time I listen to the first Skitkids song I have this feeling of anticipation before the solo and then once it comes to the pause I feel like my heart stops for a second. It's awesome.
The nightmare songs KILL.
The artwork is also awesome.

Also I picked up a copy of Sorry State's new release Under Al Kritik and it is almost as ripping of a record (trust me that's an awesome complement). Definitely has a feel of some of the other Danish records with some of the weirdness of Dead Kennedys and some of the harshness of Articles of Faith. The b-side opens with a metal ripper. This record is awesome and I'm definitely in love with it and highly suggest you get one since Sorry State was nice enough to make it available in the states for a decent price.

Logic Problem played Charlotte last friday night. It definitely wasn't one of our best shows but it was fun. Well for everyone else. I managed to destroy my finger (it didn't really hurt that bad but all the blood was a nuisance).

Lots of awesome shows coming up.
Fucked up @ Milestone friday
Shards first show @ ???? saturday
Social Circkle/Shards@ Slims the 27th
Logic Problem @ UNCC the 31st

Lots to do so go.

Search For the Sun

In honor of finding this album I decided to upload it.
Ha sadly I have no cover or insert to scan.

One of the first American releases on Crass' Corpus Christi label in 87. This album has something for everyone. It's definitely d-beat to the bone. It's a west coast Discharge, everything great about Discharge but with a little bit of some of the sound and general feel of the west coast tossed in. They were featured on the Not So Quiet on the Western Front LP and their song fits in with a lot of the other music on there but still manages to stand out. The song on the comp is a rawer slower version of Annihilation without the speech that starts off the LP. I kind of like it better than the album version. You can listen to that version HERE.

Anyways I think this album is a classic for most everyone, even if you don't get behind the whole peace punk stance this album is still awesome.

More and More

Everyone should check out the newest Raleigh freaks Shards.
Their demo is coming out soon on Sorry State Records.
Till then check out their myspace.
http://www.myspace.com/shardsnc

The band is a real super group containing members who have been in this band and that band. All are familiar faces from the area but this is something completely different.
I was surprised the first time I heard the vocals. There is a feeling of nihilism in them, very reminiscent of Darby Crash in delivery along with all the slurring of words. The music is a little more midpaced with an early west coast feel to it. Think Live Fast Die Young by The Circle Jerks but with a couple of weirder parts added in and more demented vocals.

Keep an eye out for the demo it is amazing.
I can't wait to see where this band goes if this is just the beginning.

TV Casualty

So it's 3am. I am not tired at all. The TV just stopped working, not a single channel will come in. I am starting to get hungry but don't want to eat because then I'll never get to sleep. And now the power just went off for a second leaving me in pitch black darkness. It's kind of freaky for this stuff to happen while I'm home alone at 3 in the morning.

I don't know the point of this.

Join the Rejects

I'm bored... nobody else is home and I've just been sitting around doing nothing all night.
Pretty shitty day. Denied more jobs. This feels like it's one big joke.
Here's a couple of videos involving crazy animation.... I wish I was able to do this kind of stuff.

and another one that's a music video for a remix of a radiohead song. the song may not be the best but the video is great.

and an insane one by the street artist Blu

Ok that's it.......

I was a teenage pretty boy

It's hard to type because my hands are so numb from the cold.

It's not too bad though.. it's kind of a refreshing cold like sticking your head in the freezer.

Today's Agenda:

- Go get ticket for expired registration dropped
- Go to GFC to apply loading/unloading trucks (it's a job and pays $11 an hour)
- Go do some very light grocery shopping
- CLEAN the house and possibly the inside of my car
- Try to seal up my room better to keep the cold out
- Jam session with matt and dave

The problem is that it is now 1 am when I'm posting this and I still need to get ready to go out.
Guess I have to get to it.

I nicked this off of Wooster Collective.
It is an amazing video.

This Is Where We Live from 4th Estate on Vimeo.

The video is for a publisher's(4th estate) 25th year anniversary. It's pretty crazy and had to have taken a lot of time and creativity to make.

Ok well off to make the most of what's left of the day.
