PRESSING ON!!!!!!!!

So fuck it I don't have the scans for it yet but I'm going to upload it anyways. I've been listening to this all morning and really wanted to put it up because it's something that needs to be listened to by everyone

Hopefully I don't have to really introduce this band. They've been ripping it up with the most intensity and sheer brutality for a long while. Definitely one of the most well known Japanese Hardcore bands out there GAUZE! This record though I feel gets overlooked a lot. It was released by Prank in the '97. It's not any new material, it's 3 songs from Equalizing Distort and 3 songs from Genkai Ha Dakoda. These songs are definitely beefed up though and sound thicker than anything else they've done. The two most recognizable songs for most are probably Low Charge and Pressing On since equalizing distort is one of their better known albums and both have english names but you will barely recognize them. Pressing on is somehow played louder faster and harder than on the LP with cool backing vocals on the "pressing on" part. I think the best is definitely Sinin Ni Kuchinasi which is the last song of Genkai Ha Dakoda. Just the beginning of the song sounds so powerful and then at the snap of a finger it blasts into full speed.

So this is definitely for those people who like good ripping fast music.

Go download this now and listen to it non-stop.

Dedicated to all the real hardcorepunkers

So I still haven't quite figured out the format for this blog. I don't really have enough records to rip and upload to make it worth being dedicated to that. And I know nobody really cares about the everyday happenings of my life (hell I barely do). But for now I'm going to upload a couple of awesome records. I'm sure the blog will come into heavy use during the tour.

First up today is the second installment of the Best Run Fast 7" compilations from Japan. The first one is actually better in my opinion (you have slaver and lc pirates and a much better DONDON song) but I needed to rip this anyways for myself so decided to share it. You can search 7" punk for the first comp. After the second 7" came a video and a compilation LP in the series. I still haven't been able to find a copy of either, digital or physical. The compilations were put out by MCR in the early 90's. MCR still is putting out tons of cds and videos. You can check them out HERE.

The last picture is a sticker... it's pretty large and all one sticker. A little weird, I don't know anyone who'd really want to just slap that on stuff.

As far as the songs go, the sicilian blood song is definitely the ripper of the bunch. The mess song is really good but not quite up with the Sicilian Blood song. I'm not too much of a fan of Idora's rendition of Helter Skelter. It's interesting, but I don't think I've ever heard a cover of that song I like. DONDON's song is super powerful with the driving force typical of Japanese hardcore. I myself like the song exterminate to the fashion from the first Best Run Fast Better though.

Also as the first 7" this one is also dedicated to all the real hardcorepunkers.

Speak Mouth Fuck You

So I haven't really taken the time to write anything in here. I'll change that soon, just adjusting to working again and looking for a second job.

Flint Pl is moving soon. I think familiar faces are occupying this place though.

When I get home I think I'll rip a 7" to upload up here. It's Gauze's 7" on Prank. All the songs were released on other records but these versions are a million times more ripping. Pressing On from Equalizing Distort starts it off and is so much heavier and crushing than the LP version. I sold mine in desperation for money but finally got another copy the other day and have been listening to it non-stop since.

Also in other music related things. I got the Loner's new LP last night. I haven't gotten to listen to it entirely (and have to fix it, the center hole is too tight and makes it play at the wrong speed) but the songs I have listened to are great. The B-Side opener is definitely the hit off the record. It's the song Let Me, one I have heard them play and that stuck out both live and on the record as an amazing song. So either go see the loners or check out churchkey records to pick up a copy.

Also Logic Problem has a record coming out on Grave Mistakes very soon and is almost done with our LP to come out on Abuse Records in Brussels. So get ready for two total rippers.

My other more powerpop/rock band needs a singer and a bass player, practices are sunday at like 4. To give you an idea we are planning on covering Harmony In My Head by the Buzzcocks as a song to try out singers.

Also Decimates is still looking for a drummer. Don't have to be awesome but need to be able to keep up. We should be working on a demo soon enough.

Ok so i'll leave you with this

Come check out the Remedy on Hargett street if you're looking for food. Things have been going rather well there. I'm there most nights from 5 to close.
